Cobb’s Comeback

In 2008, former professional boxer Randall “Tex” Cobb, THM ’08, graduated magna cum laude from Temple’s School of Tourism and Hospitality Management at age 54. But his college comeback wasn’t the only sign that he was made of the same fighting spirit so prevalent at Temple: During his boxing career, which lasted from 1977 to 1985, he was knocked out only once. Additionally, his infamous defeat in 1982  was declared by Howard Cosell to have been so unfair it spurred the announcer to resign from the sport he’d been covering for much of his sportscasting career.
